Do punks have dogs?
Seems a legit question for a company that embraces punk and dogs!
Yes, is the answer. Here’s some famous punks and their little punk friends:
Sid Vicious: The legendary bassist of the Sex Pistols was known for his wild antics both on and off stage, but he also had a soft spot for his dog, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier named "Stinky." Sid and Stinky were inseparable. Stinky even made an appearance on the cover of the Sex Pistols' album "Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols."
Iggy Pop: The godfather of punk himself, Iggy Pop, has been known to share the spotlight with his four-legged friends. Iggy is a dog lover through and through, and he's often been photographed strutting around with his canine companions over the years. In 2020 he told a tearjerker of a bedtime story about his rescue dog Tromba for a series by the New Museum in New York. Have a listen here https://youtu.be/opOSceqOKf4?feature=shared
Debbie Harry: The iconic and beautiful frontwoman of Blondie, Debbie Harry has had dogs for decades and she currently has two Chin dogs. In a 2019 New York Times interview she said she didn’t want to be seen as “an old lady with dogs”. Oh Debbie, you’re far too punk for us to ever think that.
Joe Strummer: The lead vocalist and guitarist of The Clash, was not only a musical powerhouse but also a dog lover. Joe was often seen walking his beloved dog around London, and he even wrote a song called "Cool 'n' Out" inspired by his little punk.
These punk rockers didn't just bring the noise, they brought the love for their canine mates too. Because even when you're raising hell, there's always room for a little puppy love.
