How much sleep does my dog need?
Having worked like a dog all day do you feel dog-tired or are you as excited and as a dog with two d**ks? We have so many dog analogies to do with energy, but is there a set amount of sleep our little punks need to keep this energy up? Well, just like us humans, it depends on a few factors like age, breed, and activity level.
Generally speaking, adult dogs snooze for about 12 to 14 hours a day. Puppies and seniors, on the other hand, may need a bit more, ranging from 18 to 20 hours. Yep, they're basically professional nappers!
But don't worry if your dog's sleep schedule doesn't match up exactly with these averages. Some little punks might be light sleepers, while others could snooze like logs. And hey, if your dog's a little night owl, just make sure they're getting their beauty rest during the day.
Keep an eye on their behaviour and energy levels. If they're bright-eyed and bushy-tailed when they're awake, chances are they're getting the right amount of sleep. And if they're a bit sluggish, maybe they just need a little more nap time.
So, let your dog do what they do best - whether that's chasing squirrels or perfecting the art of the doggy dream. After all, a well-rested punk is a happy punk!
